How To Use Wax Melts

Wax Melt Safety & Use

Always make sure your wax burner is suitable for the purpose of melting wax and is a wax burner and NOT an oil burner. Please note all of our wax burners listed on our website are designed for melting wax.

Break off a cube or two of your wax melt bar and place into your burner. (The amount of wax required will depend on the size of your burner.)

If using a 1oz sample pot, you can either empty the whole pot into your burner (depending on the size of the burner) or you can cut it up into smaller pieces to use over time.

Place a tea light inside the burner and light the wick.

Warning: We strongly recommend only using 4hr tea lights rather than 8 hr to prevent the wax burner getting too hot & the wax melt losing it’s fragrance too quickly.

Once your wax begins melting the aromas will start to fill the room. The intensity of the fragrance will depend on the size and temperature of the room and the amount of wax used.

Always make sure your wax burner is away from any windows or draughts as this can affect the performance of both the wax melt and burner.

Whilst our wax melts are safe to melt around children and pets, you should always keep your wax burner out of reach at all times and never leave a lit burner unattended.

Please note that all wax melt items are CLP compliant and all allergens will be listed on the item itself. Please refer to packaging for allergens.

To remove your wax from the burner, light the tea light for around 1 minute so the bowl begins to warm and the wax should just slide out, and wipe your bowl down. Otherwise you can soak up the wax using a tissue or cotton pad. Never use any cleaning wipes or chemicals to clean your burner. Don’t use any sharp objects e.g. knife to scrape the wax out as not only could this damage the burner, it could also cause injury to yourself.

FAQS

What is a wax melt?
Wax melts are scented pieces of wax used to make your home smell amazing! Wax melts are an affordable alternative to using candles and they last much longer! We have a wide variety of scents to choose from, ranging from popular cleaning inspired scents to nostalgic, traditional sweet shop scents!

What wax do you use?
We use 100% soy wax which is vegan and eco friendly.

How long does the wax last?
Depending on the amount of wax you use, the scent throw can vary. When using our snap bars, 2 cubes of wax will last between 10-14 hours. Our 1oz sample pots will provide you with 15-20 hours of high quality fragrance.

Are your wax melts safe to use around pets and children?
YES!! Our wax melts are safe to use around your furry friends and children as we use soy wax (a natural wax) which doesn’t give off any harmful smoke.

What do I do with my wax melt once the scent has disappeared?

Once you have enjoyed melting the wax and the scent is beginning to disappear, you can remove it from the burner and replace it with a brand new wax melt. Unlike candles, wax melts don’t come into direct contact with a flame so they won’t evaporate and the scent will simply just disappear.

How do I change my wax melt over?
We have some easy & safe ways for you to remove the old wax from your wax burner.

1. Light a tea light underneath the burner for around 30 seconds-1 minute (our glass burners will only need around 10 seconds) and the wax should slide out of the dish. Wipe your burner down with some cotton pads or tissue and add your new wax melt in!
2. Light a tea light underneath the burner and wait for the wax to completely melt. Once the wax has melted blow out the tea light and soak up the wax using cotton pads or tissues. Wipe the burner down to remove any excess wax and add your new wax melt in.

WARNING: Never use any sharp objects to remove the wax from your burner, as this could damage the burner or cause injury.

How long is delivery?

We aim to dispatch all orders within 1-2 days of the order being placed. Mrs Hinch sets may take up to 5 working days to be dispatched as these are made to order.

We currently use Yodel 2-3 day delivery service to ship all parcels which starts at only £2.99.

Do you accept returns?

If you are not happy with an item you have received and it is still in the original packaging we can accept your return. Unfortunately we will not accept wax melts that have been opened and used.

We do not accept returns based on the fact that you dislike a scent of an item you have received. Please note you will be responsible for covering the return postage costs. If you are returning an item back to us we do recommend using a tracked shipping service as we cannot claim any responsibility if the item doesn’t come back to us.

If you would like to return an item back to us, please contact us through our ‘Contact Us’ page and we will get back to you within 24 hours.

Our Baby Powder is identical to the classic Baby Powder scent that we all love. A sweet and memorable smell of clean elegance.

Colours may vary.

Two chunks of our wax snap bars should typically give 10-14 hours of scent.
